Ashley is the founder of Insight Survey, with over 30 years of industry experience across Australia. After a decade of surveying work in Victoria, he established Insight Survey in 2003 and quickly rose to manage major civil and resources projects for Tier 1 clients in Western Australia.
Ashley's forward-thinking approach and early adoption of machine guidance systems led to Insight Survey's well-deserved recognition, receiving the prestigious Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence award in 2009. In 2014, he relocated to the Sunshine Coast, where Insight Survey has continued to thrive, servicing projects throughout Queensland, the Northern Territory, and New South Wales.

Our Survey Manager Sam Fowler is a seasoned professional with invaluable experience in managing mega-projects across various fields such as tunnelling, pipelines, LNG plants, mine infrastructure, and rail. His expertise extends to a wide array of surveying techniques, including control network establishment, bulk earthworks, marine construction, SMP works, and dimensional control.
Sam is a Registered Surveyor with SBQ and has a Bachelor of Surveying (Hons) from the University of Otago and a Graduate Certificate of Construction Management from Deakin University. With such a wealth of knowledge and credentials, Sam plays a pivotal role in driving project excellence and fostering client satisfaction.

McCabe has been part of the Gladstone community for over two decades and brings a strong local focus and practical mindset to his role as Gladstone Operations Manager. With a career spanning more than 20 years in surveying and civil construction, he’s known for his ability to lead teams, solve problems on the ground, and deliver results in complex environments.
McCabe has worked throughout the Gladstone region on a variety of projects and most recently worked with Gladstone Ports Corporation as a Technical Officer, where he managed construction projects from feasibility through to execution. His work included overseeing site progress using UAV technology and ensuring projects were delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
He holds a Diploma of Surveying and is registered as a Surveying Associate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland.

Clint has over 20 plus years surveying experience, with much of his career focused on underground tunnelling and heavy construction. He has managed large survey teams across a variety of projects including tunnelling, roads and rail. More recently, Clint has worked on bulk earthworks projects at Yarwun and is currently working on our Gove Pond 5 project. Clint has a Bachelor of Engineering (Geomatics) from the University of NSW and has ESP-AP accreditation with the Geospatial Council of Australia.

Chris boasts an impressive three decades in the surveying industry, commencing his journey with a decade of consultancy work in Sydney. Subsequently, he transitioned into construction and engineering with a leading earthmoving company in Western Sydney, where he contributed to bypass and highway projects on the Mid-north Coast of New South Wales. Chris has accumulated a wealth of experience in civil construction, concrete, SMP, and dimensional control surveying. Demonstrating his versatility, he has adeptly managed projects with up to 10 survey crews under his guidance. His dedication to excellence is evident through his independent oversight of projects from their inception to successful completion. Chris has an Associate Diploma in Engineering (Surveying) for TAFE NSW.

Kyle spent over a decade in the New Zealand Navy working as a Hydrographic Surveyor where he completed projects throughout New Zealand, the South Pacific and Afghanistan. Following the completion of a Bachelor of Surveying from the University of Otago, Kyle has spent the past 5 years working across a variety of construction projects including rail, roads, bridges, solar farms, wind farms and industrial plants. Kyle now manages all surveying operations at QAL and our wider Gladstone operations.

Rob has a solid 15 years surveying experience working across Australia and PNG on large scale infrastructure projects such as pipeline, roads and railways. Prior to this Rob spent over a decade in the IT industry providing him with invaluable programming and coding experience. Rob has an Associate Degree in Spatial Science from University of Southern Queensland.

Danny has spent the last 20 years of his 30 year surveying career based at the industrial hub of Gladstone. Danny has worked on some of Gladstone's biggest projects, including the construction of the Yarwun refinery and the construction of the APLNG plant at Curtis Island. More recently, Danny has been managing Insight Surveys scope of work at Yarwun. Danny has an Associated Degree in Surveying from the University of Southern Queensland and has ESP-AP accreditation with the Geospatial Council of Australia.

Since embarking on his surveying journey recently, Will has embraced his career change with tremendous enthusiasm. He has embraced all things technical and has evolved into a highly proficient field technician, successfully conducting surveys and UAV flights for bulk earthworks and civil projects.

Tom completed a Bachelor of Science (Surveying) at the University of Otago, during which time he completed a summer internship with BHP in the Central QLD coal fields. Post-university Tom spent two and a half years working in Queenstown, for a multidisciplinary consultancy firm across a variety of projects. During this time, he completed cadastral surveys, topographical surveys, engineering setout and design, hydrographic surveys UAV surveys. Tom is now part of our team working across bulk earthworks and civil project in QLD and NT.

Ed's has been working in Geospatial data collection and processing since 2010, encompassing a diverse array of roles, including serving as a military drone mission commander and image analyst. Throughout his career, Ed has made significant contributions to major vegetation surveys across various Australian States, playing a pivotal role in developing techniques and processes to aid government management of feral animals and noxious weeds using unmanned aircraft. With a profound passion for his field, Ed brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. His 12-year stint in the Australian defence force, both as a reservist and full-time member, along with 13 years of operational expertise with unmanned aircraft in both military and civil environments, is a testament to his dedication and proficiency. In recent times, Ed has dedicated his expertise to bulk earthworks projects across Queensland. Ed's has an Associate Degree of Spatial Science (Surveying) from University of Southern Queensland.

Noah holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying) (Honours) from RMIT University and brings over three years of experience working on civil and rail infrastructure projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria. During this time, he developed strong skills in high-precision surveying while contributing to the construction of rail underpasses, bridges, elevated stations, and retaining walls.
Now working on bulk earthworks projects, Noah continues to expand his expertise in GNSS and drone-based surveys. His attention to detail and passion for delivering quality outcomes make him a valuable part of the Insight Survey team.
