About this Project
The Perth to Mandurah railway was part of WA’s $1.4 billion new Metro City Rail project. The contract was undertaken by a joint venture between Leighton Contractors and Kumagai Gumi a Japanese company with an impressive record in soft ground tunneling, the $430m package F contract was awarded to Joint Venture and consisted of 600m of cut and cover tunnels, 700m of twin bored tunnels, two underground stations, railway track, overhead power, signaling and communications, associated road works, drainage and landscaping.
Insight Survey involvement:
- Surveyors for Esplanade Station, Cut and Cover Tunnel and Launch Box for Tunnel Boring Machine.
- Survey Managers for Esplanade Zone
- Involved in Movement Monitoring of surrounding buildings during the Tunnel Boring works.
